The exams are finally over. Actually it was technically over yesterday but there was a Mock Chinese full paper today. How crappy.
Anyway, if you were looking forward to read about me ramble about exams, you will be disappointed because I won't be discussing about the failures of education but of my trip to Orchard Road yesterday, Mi3, Gundam SEED, Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children.
Ok. Here goes:
Yesterday, Faith, Tara, Kathy, Jonathan Tham, Hayden, Jun Ying and myself went down to Orchard when there was hardly anyone there. Can't blame us, the school let us off at 9.30am (I am not complaining)...
We went to Cineleisure, half thinking that we couldn't enter because all the shutters of the shops were down and the lights were dim. But we did, of course. The six of us discussed about what movie to catch, digressing in between because of the trailers playing and in the end, we decided on Mi3 because of the timeslots.
My verdict:
Mi3 was ok. Nothing too terrific, nothing too memorable about it. The few memorable bits were the ORANGE lambhorghini, the DHL get-up and the arguments in Italian.
The most memorable line in the movie was:
"But it's such a nice car."
which Maggie Q's character (Zhen) said when she was supposed to blow up the orange lambhorghini (it was a cover). I totally agree with her though... :P
After the movie, we went to eat at Pastamania (I had Bacon Aglio) and then we went to Kinokuniya. I had 50 dollars worth of Kino vouchers for my birthday and now it is reduced to a 5 dollar voucher because of this trip.
What did I buy?
I bought the 2-disc edition of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children DVD (rocks rocks rocks!) and a book titled Evil Star by Anthony Horowitz. The book is the second instalment to the Power of Five Series (very creepy stuff). I love his books, especially the Alex Rider series.
Since we had nothing else to do, we decided to just go walk around. When we were in Heeren, Faith mentioned an anime shop (Action City) and we decided to go there to check out the Gundam SEED stuff.
In the end, Faith and I bought about 3 boxes of Gundam SEED series 5 figurines (6 bucks each). Actually, I only bought 2- one was Athrun Zala (really really cool) and the other was Lunamaria (which I got for my birthday already). The last box was bought from Faith because she ended up getting 2 Kira figurines (which is also pretty cool).
After the Action City trip, we all went home and that was that. Nothing much went on today other than the fact that I just found out about Final Fantasy XIII which well be played on PS3.
I watched the trailer for about 5 times. It is so cool. The graphics are entirely FFVII: AC style- even in battle! Battle is done in real time, like FFXI and FFXII. And, the lead character is female and uses a gunblade. What is cool about her gunblade is that it switches between a gun and a blade, unlike Squall's and Seifer's. I managed to find really Hi-Res pictures of the game released by Square Enix. I uploaded them into my handphone. ahahahahaha.....one of them is my wallpaper now.
Here is a screenshot from a battle scene:
