Alina, Pris Goh, myself and a few others had a rather depressing talk today.
Depressing talk about our near future.
As far as our talk went, all of us came to one unanimous conclusion- JC life sucks and whatever we are learning now (especially PW) is totally and utterly useless.
The biggest difference between poly life and JC life, I feel, is that while both lifestyles are really hectic, poly students enjoy their work while JC students slog through theirs.
I'm still in JC anyways.
For these few reasons:
-I've got no money to study overseas. If I had, I would've gone to a poly.
-I lost interest in poly at the end of last year because I was totally unimpressed by their magazines and I didn't like the fact that the standard for mass comm dropped like mad.
-I want a degree. Degrees are not an option nowadays. It's the bare minimum.
-I think there are other reasons but I can't remember them...
And for these reasons, I continue to slog...
At least I like my classmates and my friends. They are all nice, amiable and fun...
But it's still sad to know that many people are thinking of dropping out of JC and going to poly. I'm thinking if JC is really that bad. Is the work that depressing. That useless. Can't they just push themselves to complete what they started? But of course, they should go to where they are happier at...makes things easier.
Other depressing things that happened today include the SAJC vs RJC rugby match.
SA lost.
DEPRESSING
For these few reasons:
-Those stuck-up, elitist Rafflesians won. I don't hate all RJ people especially since I have 3 cousins from RJ. BUT. They are still rather elitist and I don't like it that they have something else to brag about.
-Those RJC ruggers do not reflect the so-called good behaviour that so-called smart students should have. (example: No. 14 shouted "We're a f***ing strong team. F*** man!" or something like that)
-The RJC teacher and coach did not reflect proper behaviour either (example: One of the RJ teachers or some personnel insulted us as we cheered "SA fight back". I'm not sure what he said but he had zero sportsmanship)
-The SA guys worked really hard! They even cried when we lost. SO DEPRESSING.
Ah well.
We consoled ourselves with the knowledge that most of the RJ ruggers are DSA students. Which means that not all of them did well for their O'levels. blah.
On a side note, I thought the RJ ruggers and the coach took steroids. They were really muscular and tall. But it's not a serious thought lah. Just a random thought.
Ah well.
I haven't completed my homework. I'm so screwed. GPP is so irritating. PW is so retarded.
Why am I doing this again?
Oh. right.
University. BLAH
