I mentioned that I finished this book in my previous post (yesterday)... and last night, I couldn't sleep because I couldn't stop thinking about it. So I decided to blog about it to clear my thoughts and to add some closure.
And yes, there are spoilers ahead!
Ok. I thought that the book was a fun read. There were a lot of shocking developments. Probably more than the developments of the past 3 books combined. Of course there were horrifying moments. Bella's whole pregnancy thing was simply hard to read. It was really painful mostly because it was so gross - the whole evil immortal infant thing.
I know a lot of Twilight fans didn't like this development of the book but I do understand why Meyer made Bella pregnant and made Bella go through all that shit. The whole thing was a development of Bella's and Edward's relationship and it is just such a Bella thing to be so self-sacrificial to risk her life for a baby that was, for most of the book, thought to be some sort of succubus. Still, I tried to keep my imagination shut during the gory scenes.
The other stuff in the book were the more fun stuff. I enjoyed it because they were really funny. Even the chapter titles when in Jacob's POV were funny. Bella's superpower was uber cool. And I really liked some of the visiting vamps. But I suppose the ending of the book left me feeling weird because of just how.... there is no ending.
Not to say that the ending sucked. It was good, it was happy but it was so indefinite because the vamps are immortal! So I couldn't help thinking about what happens after. What will happen a decade later? A century? A millenia?
I suppose this leaves room for more books if Meyer wants to continue with series in that universe. Maybe in Renesme's POV.
