Has anyone seen the new MRT signs?

Old MRT sign

The signs that tell you that those special seats are for the elderly/pregnant/hyperactive young kids/injured/etc.

Yes, there are new signs!

I boarded the MRT today and I got a shock when I saw it. IT WAS SO HUGE. I wanted to take a photo but felt too paiseh to do it (and I couldn't do it discreetly).

It was SO BIG. As though they thought Singaporeans were too blind to comprehend those stick figures in the old sign, so they made a new one that is twice as large.

Maybe we are really too blind. Like myopia has officially taken over or something.

Personally, I don't feel comfortable sitting at those seats designated for those special people. Not that it's bad to sit there or anything. And besides, if someone really needs a seat, it doesn't matter where he/she sits right? People just have to be gracious enough to offer their seats irregardless of whether the seat is dark green or hot pink.

Then my train of thought (haha!) went on to how, in time, Singapore would have to either take out all those signs or plaster those signs everywhere.

Why?

Cos of our aging population! Soon, everyone would be an elderly and we'll all need to sit!

Secondly because of our need for more babies. Soon, there will be an influx of preggers! And after those babies are born, there will be an influx of hyperactive young things!

Then I thought of solutions to the problem...

I thought we could have specific carriages for preggers and elderly (kinda like in Japan where they have women carriages). So those who need it can sit and we can leave the jostling, squeezing and armpit smelling to the young.

Then I realized that whatever I thought was rubbish. Well, I thought the solution made sense, but the rest is rubbish. Which means that whatever I just typed was rubbish, whatever you just read was rubbish too! hahaha...

Oh boy, look at what studying has done to me... I've gone loco...
