I had my first Japanese language class yesterday. It got pretty confusing but I think I can manage. I just need to memorise the Hiragana. I did study the first 15 Hiragana characters and I think I've got them in my head. 15 characters down, another 15 to go! And I think I need to be more familiar because it takes me quite a while to process the words.
After yesterday's class, I went to Vivocity to shop with my mum.
We went to this shop that my mum likes (she's friendly with the sales person). The sales lady recommended me this dress. It's a pretty formal dress made of soft silky material. It's not exactly long or short, just about 2 inches above the knee? It's actually one of those dresses most of you will never imagine me in. I like it partly because it's really comfortable but since it's kinda formal, I'll only be wearing it for CNY and dinners.
But we still got the dress in the end.
It's quite funny, really. The lady recommended me the dress because she thought I was the 'havoc' sort because of my hair cut.
Oh how wrong she was. I told her that my mum is actually more havoc than me. But I tried the dress anyway. It's not like it's anything provocative. Just more dressy than usual. I should take a photo of it and post it here....but I'm LAZY!
After that my mum and I went to Nichii and I went on a shorts shopping spree. I have this real lack of shorts to wear out. Just last week, I wore the same pair of shorts out twice. I like the shorts at Nichii - not too expensive and they actually fit well. I liked this pair of
BRIGHT ORANGE shorts (Sofia will scream if she sees it) but it's kinda hard to match so I didn't get it. I opted for the easier-to-match brown/cream coloured shorts instead.
My mum did say that the likes the orange pair too and she may get it. Thing is, she wears an M and I wear an S. And this is when my mum commented that my butt is so big so how could I be wearing an S when I look more like an M.
I suppose I should feel insulted. But S fits and there was no size M anyway. So there.
Zara was having some crazy sales; jeans going for 40 bucks onwards, tops going cheap. Queues in the shop was uber long and the sizes for the pants were at like 40 and 42. I did find one my size but I realised that Zara's pants have weird cuttings. So I didn't get anything.

I also recently found out that Arctic Monkeys are coming up with their new album soon. Like sometime this year.
This means 2 things:
- another awesome album to get!
- a possible performance at Glastonbury Festival 09!!!
And this means another 2 things:
- I absolutely have to get Glasto tix if they are performing
- I absolutely need to get enough money for the UK trip (Loo and I guesstimated that the total cost for Glasto itself - inclusive of tix, coach fare, stuff we have to buy like a tent and sleeping bags, as well as food - will come up to 1000 buckeroos)
And this poses a problem:
- How the hell am I suppose to get at least 2.5K by June? (Or at least 2K, I intend to borrow as little as possible from my mum)
Loo and I also came to the conclusion that it will be
very very very very (X10) hard to obtain Glasto tickets during the second release in April. The first release of 100 000 tickets got freakin sold out in less than a day back in October last year. And the retarded deposit scheme is ending Feb 1st (so Loo and I decided not to make a deposit cos it's just hard to fork out the 400 bucks when we don't know if we can prepare the total 1000 bucks!).
This means that... we need a miracle. Or the Arctic Monkeys should come to SINGAPORE (not in end June/early July, please). Except that this is a miracle in itself.
